Derby Centre
Derby is a former spa town that lies on the River Derwent. The city’s history dates back to Roman times but it was only given city status in 1977 by Queen Elizabeth II. The town has been involved in many industries, including beer, cloth, porcelain and Rolls Royce aircraft engines and has been referred to as “the home of industry”. The popular consensus of opinion is that ‘Derby’ is a corruption of the Danish – ‘Deor-a-By’, meaning ‘village of the deer’. It was the industrial revolution that transformed Derby into a centre for the silk industry and then brought a major railway terminus to the city. The city has much to offer the visitor in its own right, but is also an excellent base for touring the fantastic countryside in the region.
Nottingham Centre
Nottingham also possesses excellent sporting facilities. It is home to two football teams, Nottingham Forest and Notts County,For those with a penchant for the art of ‘retail therapy’, Nottingham is one of England’s best shopping cities with no less than 4 major shopping centres. Nottingham Forest Football Club
The ground from a distance looks quite picturesque sitting on the banks of the River Trent. Both ends have been re-developed during the 1990's, much improving the overall appearance. At one end, the Bridgford Stand houses away fans in the lower tier; it is odd because one third of this stand was built lower then the rest, due to a local Council planning requirement to allow sunlight through to the houses in nearby Colwick Road. Opposite, the Trent End, is the most recent addition to the ground. It is a large two tiered stand that looks quite smart. One unusual feature of the stand, is that running across the middle are a number of rows of seatingenclosed within a covered shaded glass area.

The 18 tees of this little gem of a 9-holer offer variety of yardage, shape, and elevation thus requiring the golfer to pay close attention during both circuits.
